Award-winning Clarity CE30 Sends Sound Directly to Hearing Aids, Helps People with Hearing Loss Better Understand Phone Conversations
Chattanooga, TN - Clarity, a nation’s leading supplier of hearing loss solutions, today released the Clarity CE30, an amplified neckloop that connects people wearing hearing aids with their telephone to make conversations clearer.
Resting comfortably around the neck, the CE30 features adjustable volume control and allows for effortless, hands-free communication. A user simply plugs the CE30 into a corded, cordless or cellular telephone which then transmits sound directly to the hearing aid, eliminating distracting background noise. The device is available online at www.clarityproducts.com for $79.95.
The CE30 received the prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Award from the Consumer Electronics Association and will be recognized in January of 2009 at the association’s International CES show in Las Vegas, NV.
“The CE30 is another example of Clarity merging innovative concepts with evolving technology to create easy-to-use devices that improve the lives of people with hearing loss,” said Carsten Trads, president of Clarity. “It is central to our mission that we create products that help our senior population and those with hearing loss live as independently as possible. The CE30 taps into this market and helps make phone conversations clearer for the millions of people who struggle to hear them everyday.”
The built-in microphone on the CE30 allows users to talk hands-free, as if they were having a normal conversation. It also features a large volume knob for easy adjustment by people struggling with low vision or limited dexterity. The CE30 is compatible with standard headset ports (2.5mm and 3.5mm connectors are included), operates using two AA batteries (included) and comes with a 1 year warranty.
While operating the CE30 is simple, Clarity utilizes T-coils, small metal rods encircled by copper wire housed in the hearing aid to transform electrical signals into sound. This allows hearing aids users to experience quality sound uninterrupted by background noise. Eight years ago, only 30 percent of hearing aids had T-coils. That number has now doubled, according to an article published in 2007 in Hearing Health magazine, as people with hearing loss discover benefits such as improved phone conversations.
